Oh dear, where did the Spring and Summer 2020 go?! It’s been a strange and often sad time these last few months hasn’t it? After the initial shock of the Covid-19 pandemic taking hold in March and the lockdown that followed, I was like many others I suspect, in a rather nervous and stressed place during the weeks that followed.
Despite all the negativity surrounding the lockdown, I ultimately found that designing and making more jewellery was the perfect way of occupying and distracting myself from the disturbing news updates. Having lots of time to experiment and be creative, I enjoyed making more pieces containing gemstones which added some fresh colours into my work.
Having made new pieces, however, with all galleries closed and events cancelled, I was also no longer able to sell to customers face-to-face. Commissions did continue to come my way though and I also made sales via my Instagram account and via my online shop. Life continued in a different way and birthdays, wedding anniversaries and so on still happened and were marked with gifts of jewellery, regardless of any on-going crisis.
I’m now happy to report that the local galleries I show my work at are all back up and running, albeit with reduced hours in some cases. I also have two pre-Christmas events booked into the diary for November and December. Further information can be viewed here.
So, Alison Crowe Jewellery is open for business and taking orders for Christmas. I am also pleased to tell you that I’m now able to offer an additional level of personalisation for bespoke items with an engraving service – a lovely way of making a gift of jewellery extra personal and special. Contact me at: email@example.com for details.
I hope you are all staying safe and well and wish you all the very best for the coming months.
